Lluís Ardèvol i Oró
Lluís is a director of Geoplay Pyrenees Ltd. He lives in Tremp, Catalonia. He holds a MSc degree in sedimentology and stratigraphy from the University Autònoma of Barcelona, where he was Assistant Professor before working 10 years for mining and civil engineering companies.
Jon has an MSc in Structural Geology and Rock Mechanics from Imperial College London and has worked across a range of industries, including hydrocarbons, geothermal energy, underground nuclear waste disposal, and geotechnical sites. He specialises in the stress and flow properties of fractures.
Davinia completed her doctorate at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid where she helps with the teaching of courses such as ‘Perforation and core description’, ‘GIS and remote sensing’ and ‘Sedimentary environments’. She researches on the sedimentology and ichnology of marginal-marine environments and collaborates with the Research Group of Ichnology at the University of Saskatchewan.
Marc Tudela Valencia
Marc got his geology degree in 2010, since when he has been working on mapping projects for the Catalan Geological Survey and geological popularisation. He has his own Geotourism company, now associated with Geoplay, and has published two guide books about the formation of the Pyrenees and the Catalan Coastal Ranges.
Valentí is owner of an Andorran geological company, Igeotest Andorra. Projects have included Variscan mapping, near surface geophysical studies, hydrogeology in porous media and hard rocks, geotechnics, environmental impacts and natural hazards, geoarchaeology and glacial geology. Valentí also promotes science through the Maurice Chevalier Foundation. He’s our expert on the Variscan.
